One qualm I have with the series as a whole is the mechanics of the fleet conferences held almost every chapter. Details of fleet engagements and other setting mechanics are deep and immersive. The entire series, as well as the subsequent series, is just as good as the first book. Engaging plot, well thought out and interesting from beginning to end.
